Our Community

Parental involvement is vital in all aspects of centre operation, from policy formation and centre management, to input into the children's program.

We believe in an open exchange of information between families and staff. Information about each child is shared between staff and families through sharing the children's developmental records and daily achievements. We aim to foster a sense of community and belonging within the centre by developing partnerships with parents, staff and wider community agencies.

Committee of Management

The Eildon Road Children’s Centre Management Committee is a group of eight parents with children at the centre.

The Committee works closely with the Centre Coordinator to develop policies, manage the Centre budget and finances, coordinate fundraising and appoint staff. The Committee may establish subcommittees for specific work areas..

Members of the Management Committee act on a voluntary basis and are elected at the AGM. Committee meetings are held once a month. Members of the Association are welcome to attend Committee meetings.

The City of Port Phillip is the Licensee of the Centre, and also provides a Quality subsidy based on the qualifications of our staff. The City of Port Phillip provides access to the house in which the childcare is provided, and provides cleaning services, garden and building maintenance in return for Infrastructure and Maintenance levies. The Department of Children's Services (within Council) also provides support and advice on an on-going basis.

The Centre is accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council Inc
